Questionnaire Tag Thing

I wasn’t going to do this, but as Mr. Romano was mean  nice
enough to tag me and I haven’t posted in a while, I’ll give it a shot.

Otherwise, I’m still going over the first draft and adding a lot of world-building stuff.

1. What’s the name of your current WIP?

King of Sparrows.

2. Ready to do a cover reveal?

You’re joking, right?

3. How many words are you into it?

Finished, at around 90k, but it’s grown since then and I’m not sure by how much.

4. Goal word count by the end of the week?

I don’t do weekly goal counts.

5. Goal word count for the entire manuscript?

Around 100k. It’s the sweet spot.

6. What genre does your WIP fall within?

I have absolutely no idea. I’m not sure it’s even fantasy, strictly speaking. It’s definitely Steampunk, but I think it leans more towards the Science Fiction side of it, as opposed to the fantastical.

7. When would you like to publish this project?

Before I die, that’d be sweet.

8. Go to page five of your manuscript and pick a random sentence to share with us!

I don’t have a page 5 since I split my main file into individual chapters. I went to chapter 5 instead and pulled out this piece that really says more about the story than anything else I can find.

Dakka rifled through the coins, spreading them out over the counter. “It’s not that simple,” he said, “and you know it, you know damn well what it’s like in the Slums. Living like a sinner because life is short, but repenting like a saint…”

“…because death is forever,” Carver finished the mantra.

9. Will this WIP turn into a series?

No. It is and always will be stand alone. But I’m not finished with the City.

10. What has been the hardest challenge in working on this WIP?

Writing it.

11. What has been your favourite part of working on this WIP?

Having written it.

12. Any special treat planned for when you finish the final draft of your WIP?

Maybe, but that’s so far, far away.

I don’t have anyone to tag, so feel free to do it if you want.
